For U.S. Veterans

U.S. Veterans, we extend our deepest gratitude for your service and sacrifice. It is our honor to support you and your families by providing compassionate guidance and meaningful services that recognize your dedication to our country.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs provides important information regarding burial benefits available to eligible military service members and their families. To begin the application process, families will need the veteran’s DD214 or other official separation documents.

Bradbury Memorial Center is here to assist families in navigating these benefits during what can often be a difficult and emotional time. Our team will help coordinate and apply for available veterans’ honors and benefits unless the family requests otherwise, which may include:

  • Headstone or grave marker
  • Niche marker for cremated remains
  • Service medallion
  • Ceremonial burial flag
  • Presidential Memorial Certificate
  • Military funeral honors

In addition, eligible veterans may qualify for a burial or funeral allowance through the VA. Beyond private cemetery options, veterans may also be eligible for interment in one of more than 100 U.S. National Cemeteries, each with its own guidelines and availability, or in some cases Burial at Sea. Additional details regarding eligibility and application processes can be found directly through the VA’s official resources.

Military service document replacement

The VMET card and other veteran identification cards are not accepted in place of the DD214 for the purpose of obtaining burial benefits. If a DD214 or other official separation documents have been lost or misplaced, families may request a replacement through the appropriate government channels.

Requests can be made through the National Personnel Records Center by submitting Standard Form SF-180, with online requests available through their official website. Please note that copy fees may apply depending on the type of request.
