Sylvia Pastor 1933-2024
Sylvia Pastor died unexpectedly on January 18, 2025, at 91 years old in Lake Havasu City, AZ with one of her daughters by her side. Sylvia was born in May 1933 to Wilfred and Dorothy Iredale. She graduated from San Francisco State University where she met and married Ken Crabtree.
She became a Social Worker after college and she and Ken raised their family in Carmel, CA. When they chose to divorce, they agreed never to live far from each other until the children had grown. They remained cordial throughout the years, which meant the world to the children. Years later she met and married Francis Pastor with whom she developed her love of the outdoors and travel. Sylvia's passion for travel and cruising took her to many places in the world where she could learn from, and celebrate, many different cultures. She loved exploring books and hearing different points of views in Book Clubs and Discussion Groups. An avid Sierra Club member in the 70's and 80's, she loved hiking, camping and outdoor adventures. She enjoyed photography, and her cherished pictures adorn the walls of both her home and her family's.
She leaves behind her sister Dorothy Bean, her 4 children, Scott Crabtree (Beth), Brenda Gourley (Larry), Cynthia Monnier (John), and Joyce Drush (Robert), along with 2 nieces,10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Her family and friends will forever miss her love, grace, and peaceful style. Her wish was to have her ashes scattered at sea and a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
