Micheal Edelman

–

Lake Havasu City, Arizona

I am heartbroken to announce the passing of my father, Micheal Stephen Edelman. Micheal passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the age of 72 after a long battle with dementia.

Micheal is survived by his amazing wife Nancy of almost 49 years, daughter Jennifer Porter, son Stephen (Julia) Edelman, granddaughter Marin Porter, and grandsons Logan, Nolan, and Dylan Edelman along with nephews, nieces, extended family, and many friends.

Micheal loved sports, especially baseball. His favorite team was the Los Angeles Dodgers, of which he was a lifelong fan. But his love of fast cars will be how many will remember him. He loved the drag races and owned and restored several cars throughout his life. From racing the streets of Whittier as a teenager to getting asked to never come back to Newport and Huntington Beach as an adult, fast cars were a passion he never grew out of. Micheal was also an avid golfer and bowler. He was a longtime member of the La Mirada Men’s Golf Club.

Micheal was known for his sense of humor. His jokes were plentiful and often inappropriate! My dad’s sense of humor is what I am going to miss the most about him. The constant comedian. He was the life of the party and made friends wherever he went. To know my dad was to love my dad. He was one of a kind.

Micheal was above all, an amazing father, grandfather, and friend. Micheal loved his family and took pride in his children and grandchildren. From being at as many sporting events as possible, to waiting up when we got home late to make sure we were safe, he was always there. Micheal was a great friend to too many to mention, so I won’t. If you know, you know!

There will be no services, but a celebration of life will take place at the end of summer or early fall. Additional information will follow later.
