I was very close to my father, he was the kind of man that I could tell anything to. I don’t think there’s a single thing about me that he didn’t know. When I came to him with a problem he always thought about it calmly and logically, was never judgmental, and always found a way to help. He provided me with so much comfort and stability, he made me feel like the most loved person in the world.

I talked to my father about death, and I know he wasn’t afraid to die. He always told me that when his time came he’d take a walk in the woods and never come back. He didn’t want to suffer, and never wanted to grow old to the point where he could no longer do what he loved. I told him he wasn’t allowed to die, and that I’d take care of him until he could no longer remember his name. But that’s not what he wanted, and I know he went peacefully.

Dad, until I see you again in heaven, I know you’re with me in spirit. I will think of you always, and will continue to make you proud. I love you unconditionally.
