Jacquelynn Leamer

–

Lake Havasu City, Arizona

It is with a smile on our faces and warmth in our hearts that we celebrate the life of Jacquelynn Paula Leamer, fondly known as Jackie by her friends and family. Jackie was a creative, smart, talented, and resilient woman who was born on April 30, 1932 in Chicago, IL, and left us on May 15, 2023. She lived a flavorful and competitive life.

Jackie had a knack for making friends in the grocery store or wherever she was out and about. Her love for cooking and baking led many to consider her a gourmet chef. Her delicious baked goods were always a hit at family events, expanding hearts and waistlines. Jackie wasn’t only skilled in the kitchen but she was also a master of cards and board games. Her competitive nature was legendary. She claimed that winning didn’t matter, but the way she celebrated victory told a different story.

As a talented seamstress, she made many formal gowns, Halloween costumes for her grandkids, and even clothes for Barbie dolls over the years. Her interest in interior design led her to remodel two homes all on her own, showcasing her creative and resilient spirit. Jackie was a woman who valued her family history, feeding people, and her independence. She was a single mother of three and supported her family while working full time for the Esco Corporation, a manufacturer of engineered metal wear parts and components for industrial applications.

Jacquelynn is survived by her daughters, Lana Tomlin and Kimberly Doner; her son, Bruce (Jama) Leamer; her grandchildren, Jesse Doner, Tyler Leamer, Chase Leamer, Jennifer Tomlin, and Garrett Tomlin. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eida Folsom; her father, James Folsom; and her sisters, Audrey Douglas and Jeanine Desilets. As we remember Jackie, we are reminded of the many lives she touched with her resilient and fiery spirit.

We invite you to celebrate Jacquelynn's life by sharing memories and uploading photos to the memorial page.
