Lk. Havasu City, Arizona
Frank (Buster) A. Lee, Jr. was born June 23rd, 1937, to Frank Arthur Lee and Helen Marie Lee and passed away quietly at his home in Lk. Havasu City, AZ, on May 24, 2024, with his loving wife, Patsy Lee, by his side.
He had fond memories of going for donuts every morning with his Dad and also loved to trap, hunt and fish when not in school.
He graduated from Adel High School in Adel, Iowa and joined the Navy when he was just 17. He learned his lifetime skill of instrument technician and electrician in the Navy.
He married Melba Leffingwell in February 1959 and had two children, John Henry Lee and Dawn Lee. He had four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Buster and Melba lived in Wyoming for 20+ years and divorced.
Buster worked many years at Lucky Mac uranium mine in Riverton, Wyoming as an instrument technician.
He married Patsy Stanley, July 13, 1982 and were married 41 years. He considered Patsy's children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren family and he loved them like his own. Lucky Mac later closed and they moved to Winnemucca, NV, where Buster went to work for First Miss Gold as an instrument technician and retired at age 65. During the time in Winnemucca, they raised and sold game birds under the name of Buster's Birds. Buster was famous for the building of beautiful bird pens while Patsy did the hatching, raising and selling of at least 25 different species of birds.
Buster and Pat enjoyed fishing, raising their birds plus two calves a year, gambling, their cabin in Custer State Park, SD, and traveling. They traveled to Mexico, Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, South Dakota, and many more destinations.
Once Buster retired, they moved to Hot Springs SD and not enjoying the winters anymore, bought a park model in Lake Havasu City, AZ. They spent the warm winters there and SD in the summer. In 2013 they sold their home in SD and moved permanently to Havasu spending there summers at their cabin in SD. Buster brought joy, smiles, and happiness to all that knew him, as he had a great sense of humor and a big heart. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Rest in peace, Buster. His Celebration of Life will be held June 6th at 12:30 at the cabin in Custer, SD. Please RSVP to Stacie Hoxie on Facebook. Cards may be sent to PO Box 210, Hermosa, SD, 57744.
